A Study of P Antigen Frequency and P1 Antibody in Korean Blood Donors




Abstract
The objective of this study was to classify the P system frequencies among 1000 healthy Korean blood donors in Seoul and Gyunggi area. The presence of P group antigens and antiP1 antibodies were tested by the method employing tube technique with
saline
at 4¡É. The results were as follows:
(1) The frequency of P1, P2 red cell phenotypes were 37.7% and 62.3% with the gene frequencies of 0.2197 and 0.7893.
(2) The frequency of anti-P1 among P2 phenotype was 10.9%.
